An Associate Business Analyst  is required for a permanent role paying £30,734 per annum with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) Information Technology Services Team based in Swansea

Job description

As an Associate Business Analyst, you will provide methodical investigation, analysis, review, and documentation, for all or a significant part of a business area, in terms of business functions and processes.

The role requires close working with stakeholders and development teams in shaping and delivering outcomes that are fit for purpose, commercially viable and in line with the organisational strategy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to mentor and be a role model to other less experienced colleagues in the community. You'll also be an active participant in the DVLA Business Analyst community, as well as working with communities across Government.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The delivery of high-quality products, services and outcomes using the appropriate agile methodology, learning & iterating frequently.
• Working with the business service designers/product managers to define the outcomes of the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories.
• Continually ensuring that a shared understanding is established amongst the development team of the business requirement and how it is met by technical solutions. Ensuring that all relevant parties are aligned with strategic goals benefitting the user.
• Analysing data to recommend service improvements and make informed decisions.

About You

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

• Previous experience working in business analysis within agile/lean delivery environments.
• BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or willingness to work towards this if successful.
• Proven experience of building great stakeholder relationships, leading and managing investigation into business and technical processes, functions, information flows and data structures, selecting the most appropriate methods and approaches.
• A history of supporting and facilitating the development and continuous improvement of products and services across a range of complex and challenging digital, data and technology teams.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.

• Your role as a business analyst supporting and/or managing the delivery of digital products and/or services using Agile and lean practices
• Examples of roles in which you had to balance new requirements and changing priorities while dealing with ambiguity. Planning, organising and prioritising requirements effectively.

An initial sift of your CV will be conducted against the above criteria, if demonstrated you will be contacted to attend a video interview.

The sift is due to take place week commencing 6th December 2021.

Interviews will be held week commencing 13th December 2021.

This interview will be conducted via a video interview, details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.

We will try to meet the dates set out in the advert. There may be occasions when these dates will change. You will be provided with sufficient notice of the confirmed dates.

If invited to interview, this may consist of a range of question types. These could include questions around behaviours and how you would respond in any situation as well as specific examples of things you have done.

The selection process will be designed specifically for the role. As a result, your assessment could include:
