Job Details

Macquarie Asset Management has a requirement based in our London office for an Emerging Market Sovereign Analyst to join the firm’s Global Emerging Market Debt team. Reporting to the Head of Emerging Market Debt, you will have a broad remit to cover hard currency sovereign, local currency rates and FX markets across Asia and will work closely with the firm’s Hard Currency and Local Currency Portfolio Managers to evaluate and invest in relevant opportunities.

 

If successful, you will likely have a strong knowledge of the Asian region; language skills (particularly Chinese) would be a plus. You will work with the other Sovereign Analysts on the team to conduct macroeconomic research, maintain and improve the investment processes, including innovating the ESG and Sustainability frameworks. In addition, you will be comfortable making investment recommendations to the Portfolio Managers across the EMD fixed income universe.

 

You will need to collaborate with other investment teams at Macquarie and articulate their views clearly to a broader investment audience. It is important that you are aligned with the overall culture of Macquarie. Given the global nature of the team and organisation, if successful you will need to be highly motivated.

 

Your responsibilities will require you to:

-  have an in-depth country analysis/fundamental research skills

- a strong understanding of Asian Fixed Income and FX markets

- Languages (particularly Chinese) preferable.

- have experience of evaluating hard currency, FX and local currency investments

- a strong focus on relative value idea generation

- have excellent communication skills

- be collaborative and team orientated

- have an Entrepreneurial and a self-starter mindset
