Network Planner

Would you like to be part of the build planning team on the Dreadnought Programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Network Planner at our site in Barrow in Furness.

As a Network Planner, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining and progressing the build plans in accordance to the build strategy. This role primarily ensures that the plan and build aligns and ensures it remains on track to be successful.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to join an evolving programme, and to be able to develop and progress within BAE Systems.

Your main responsibilities as a Network Planner will involve:

    Developing and maintaining level network plans to support plan signoff processProducing and reporting on Critical Paths using planning toolsLiaising with multiple stakeholders including managementBudget Reconciliation and resolving discrepanciesAttending various meetings, including IPT (Integrated Project Team), plan scrubs, reviewsSupporting line management as and when required

Your skills and qualifications:

    Experience of P6, Microsoft Project, Artemis or other planning toolsetsPrevious planning experience supporting project teamsIT proficient

What we're looking for in you:

You should be a good communicator with the ability well as a team or an individual, and effectively be able to collaborate and influence stakeholders. You should good time management and feel confident to engage and work with different teams such as build and operations to make sure the plans are still in aligned as set out.

Maritime - Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
