Lead Project Professional - Operations

Would you like to join a high performing team that will give you the excellent industry experience to progress your career and open up opportunities for the future? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Project Professional at our site in Barrow

As a Project Leader, you will be Supporting Build across the Programmes project Working on the Nuclear build area that manufacture the Nuclear reactors whilst working closely with Rolls Royce and many Stakeholders across the programmes. This will involve working in a complex environment whilst managing a small team who will look to you for leadership, coaching and support, thus this role is ideal for those looking to advance their career within the business.

You will gain a broad view of the design and build of Submarines and work on a critical path area in the business that is complex and very interesting. Working in a very modern environment with experienced and professional stakeholders on first of type projects of national strategic significance. This role offers a 50/50 blend of onsite and home working with flexibility around working hours.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Project Professional - Operations will involve:

Identify, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Applies appropriate PM methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.

Agree project approach with stakeholders, and prepare realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and track activities against the project schedule. Extensive Stakeholder management activity on a daily basis

Consolidate expertise from multiple sources, including third party experts, to provide coherent advice to further organisational objectives.

Accountable as a member of the Project Management team for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored Project Manager practices.

The ability to lead and coach a team of between 2 - 3 people.

Participate in negotiations and influence operational managers primarily internally at all levels.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

Previous Project Management experience (APM/Prince2 qualified or proven experience)

Experience of working in projects that are cross functional

Have an understanding or previous knowledge of Project Controls

Desirable

People management experience

Good stakeholder management experience
