This is a Business Change Manager role in the Digital Change Management team in the Department for Transport’s Digital Service.

The Digital Service mission is to equip everyone working in the Department for Transport to use digital, data and technology with confidence, ambition and creativity. The Change Management Centre of Expertise is actively involved with the Digital Service Leadership, Project Delivery, User Centred Design and Communications Teams. It is responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of excellent people-centric business change management strategies and plans for Digital Service projects and programmes. These will maximise the adoption and usage of new DfT digital services, whilst overcoming resistance to the required changes to ensure projects succeed in realising their benefits.
Include (but are not limited to);
• Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of a Change Management Centre of Expertise (CoE) within the DfT Digital Service.
• Be a coach, role model and Subject Matter Expert to guide others interested in business change management, including within the team.
• Apply a structured industry standard methodology to lead people-centric business change management activities.
• Apply proven change management processes and tools to create and implement a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
• Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications by working closely with the Digital Service’s Business Support and DfT Internal Communications Teams.
• Conduct change risk and impact analyses, assess change impact and readiness, and identify and engage with key stakeholders and sponsors across the Department.
• Monitor how successfully change is being received/adopted, adapting approaches where required to maximise impact and delivery of project/programme benefits.
• Focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, culture, skills and capabilities
You will have a solid understanding of the process of how people go through a change, and can demonstrate recent relevant experience and knowledge of applying proven change management principles, methodologies and tools to business and organisational change. Ideally, you will hold a current change management certification – PROSCI, APMG or equivalent - but training will be provided.
You will possess excellent communication and active listening skills, the ability to clearly articulate messages to a wide variety of audiences, and a clear understanding/experience of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle and how change management fits within them.

Things you need to know Security

Selection process details

Sift & Interview Dates
The sift is due to take place week commencing 13th December.
Interviews are due to take place week commencing 3rd January.
This interview could be conducted via a video interview, details of which will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.
We will try to meet the dates set out in the advert. There may be occasions when these dates will change. You will be provided with sufficient notice of the confirmed dates.
The selection process will be designed specifically for the role. As a result, your assessment could include:
• an interview
• an interview and a technical exercise (eg presentation, written, or coding exercise etc)
