About the job Summary

The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people, with a big vision – to drive change in the food system so that it delivers “food we can trust”. Our primary goal is to continue to protect public health and consumers’ wider interest in food. As we have now exited the EU the FSA faces a significant period of change and activity.

As the public-facing representatives of the Agency, the Communications Team shapes the public understanding of the FSA’s work and fuels important conversations around food safety and nutrition.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Manager (Digital Communications) who will help to protect public health, working with their colleagues to develop our digital content for a wide range of areas across online and social media platforms.

Job description

Overseeing the Agency’s social listening function, the post holder will be able to provide valuable insight for the wider Comms team, sharing the information they uncover through their work.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to create and implement digital marketing plans that use FSA data and research to provide effective and responsive communications with our audiences across a range of platforms. You will be an excellent communicator who is skilled at writing, editing and publishing digital content, as well as using analytic tools to garner insights on the way our campaigns perform.

As a small department working to protect public health it’s vital that the FSA is able to consistently punch above its weight and make itself heard. The successful candidate will play a major part in our success here, helping us reach every corner of the UK with relevant messaging that can make a tangible difference to people’s lives.
