We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to help to improve the lives of the adults with autism.

Position: Day Support Worker
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Hunslet, Armley and Chapel Allerton)
Hours: Full and part- time - Mon – Fri, 9am – 4.30pm. There are a variety of Part Time working options available
Salary: £17,374.50 per annum (£8.91 Per hour)
About the role:
As a Support Worker you will be working within day and outreach settings, helping to improve the lives of the adults supported by promoting understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and helping them to be included and feel valued within their communities. You will be committed to maximising personal liberties and enabling people to make choices and decisions about their own lives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting people to develop their skills
- Identifying opportunities for personal development
- Developing confidence and self-esteem
- Promoting physical and mental wellbeing
- Supporting people to plan their own support
- Facilitating communication and social understanding
- Helping people to develop coping strategies and manage behaviour
- Providing practical and emotional support
You don’t need to have worked in supported social care before to apply for this role, if you are caring, kind, patient this is for you.
Ideally you will have some experience of challenging behaviour or working with people with disabilities or learning difficulties, but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
You will need to have the ability to empathise and advocate for the needs of people with autism and/or learning disabilities, great communication skills and basic IT skills.
