The opportunity

The SI PMO Lead is at the heart of the Service Improvement (SI) Programme, working with Programme Directors, Project Managers and all other areas of the Project Business Team. This is a new role built as a result of a backfill for another member of the team and is key to support the delivery of SI Programme which forms part of the BPS strategic objectives. The role sits within the Atos BPS PMO team and reports to the PMO Manager. We require someone who is has 5 years + experience in the PMO Analyst/PMO Lead Analyst role and who can bring that expertise to this account. SI is a large fast paced programme, and we will need someone who is comfortable working in that environment.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Support the Atos risk management and reporting processes and drive compliance to these across the programme
  • Handles provision of assurance and insight into the Programme’s projects and their scope, estimation approach, interdependencies and outline schedule. Thereby being able to support the Portfolio Manager and Programme Director in formulating and verifying the overall Rolled Up Programme plan.
  • Champion the development and management of key project management toolsets and provide in depth advice and support
  • Analyse the data captured and champion recommendations to resolve issues and minimise risks to the delivery of IT & Change services.
  • Support compliance to agreed methodology. Ensure all projects align with methodology. Monitor progress through stage gates and pre-empt the need for non-conformances.
  • Provide Senior MGT level reporting on all aspects of the programme
  • Provide expert advice on the RAID Process throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Define, own and drive standards across the PM community
  • Act as a mentor for junior PMO staff
  • Deputises for PMO Manager at Governance forums when required
  • Evaluate project performance and recommend changes where performance is found to be unsatisfactory

 

Crucial requirements:

  • Attention to detail
  • Experience of using SharePoint and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working as part of a team with both internal and external partners. Able to influence and challenge managers at all levels, towards effective financial and planning management.
  • Self-sufficient and forward looking/planning.
  • Over 5 years’ experience working within a PMO
  • Experience in working in large, faced paced programmes
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
  • You can work with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes - using technology where possible - to increase efficiency and improve the customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills complimented by good proven understanding of MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Comfortable with traveling as part of the job.
