Summary
PA hours for delightful 20 year old woman with learning disability and additional health needs

We're looking for caring, compassionate and committed people to join our small and friendly team. We are based in Wylam, Northumberland which is a 20 minutes drive from Newcastle and has good rail/ bus links. We are specifically looking to cover:

Saturdays 9-6.30pm (2:1 staffing) to support a young person to have fun. She enjoys days out, attending a club for young adults with additional needs (WECAN which is based in Hexham), swimming, bowling, walks using her walking frame, music, looking at books and jigsaws, cinema trips etc. Driver preferable but local transport possible also.

Hourly rate starting at GBP10.78

Thursday 8-9.30am and 3-6pm and Friday 8-9.30am and 3-8pm to drop off and collect from college in Newcastle. Driver essential to use Motobility car.

Hourly rate is GBP12

More hours available in school holidays and paid holiday included.

Social care benefits include 'Blue Light Card' and 'discountsforcarers' and access to training available e.g. QCF Diploma Level 3 in Adult Care and Children's work

She has learning and physical disabilities as well as health needs, which are variable, related to epilepsy. She needs full support with personal care, feeding and mobility, but she benefits from being encouraged and supported to complete tasks as independently as possible. She enjoys company and is friendly and enthusiastic with an infectious smile.

Previous experience in a similar area is desirable, although not necessary as full training will be provided. Your role at all times will be to enable her to stay safe, participate, have fun, learn new skills and develop and maintain her independence.
