Job Details

Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded technologist and change agent to join its Technology & Innovation team based in London. You will identify and help implement digitalisation initiatives globally within MAM’s portfolio of infrastructure and real asset companies – which span the energy, transportation, water, data, telecoms, agricultural and real estate sectors, amongst others. Additionally, the Digital Lead will also work with our Public Markets business as well as MAM’s internal technology teams.

Your key responsibilities will span across all asset classes to identify, analyse and support implementation of digital technology initiatives with clear commercial benefits. You will be required to work collaboratively with senior leadership and facilitate working groups across a global portfolio of asset companies to share best practices and learnings, jointly assess technologies and vendors, optimise technology costs, benchmark performance and provide thought leadership. You will provide support to transaction teams by providing technical insight during due diligence and identifying upside potential of existing assets. You will also publish regular reports on relevant emerging technologies and their impact on Macquarie’s investments, and lead development of cloud-based tools to support deal and asset management teams.

You will be a highly skilled technologist with a background designing, building and implementing digital technologies and digital transformations, including Data Analytics, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Robotic Process Automation, Cloud, FinTech, Digital Twins and/or others. Previous exposure to the energy, infrastructure or renewables sectors is ideal. Your experience will demonstrate an ability to introduce new disruptive technologies into an organisation and guide to implementation. You will be a continuous, lifelong learner who is proactive about staying on top of recent trends in technology. A proven ability to succeed in a complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to drive change are also essential.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
