Senior Bid Manager

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated and passionate Senior Bid Manager to lead and encourage a pre-construction team to develop and deliver work winning strategies in the interior refurbishment market. The role is a senior position within the Midlands and North team. We are looking to strengthen and build on the work winning specifically within the North region, so ideally the candidate a great working knowledge within the Leeds/ Sheffield area.

As part of this role, you will lead the team and project manage the whole bid process for large complex schemes, from launch to handover to the delivery team.

We are secured on some of the biggest public sector frameworks both nationally and regionally so basic understanding of the processes involved would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop a winning strategy on each bid.
  • Manage and encourage the team to deliver their best at all times.
  • Lead work winning, customer focused bid strategies.

  • Manage the procurement process and resources with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill.
  • Produce high quality qualitative bid submissions on time within budget.
  • Provide and implement creative ideas and initiatives into bids.
  • Access technical and complex bid requirements, control and shape the bid proposals.
  • Get the very best from your team and our customers.
  • Provide de-risked, profitable, compliant, affordable bids in line with Willmott Dixon's strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the production of accurate, well presented bid documentation for tenders and work programmes.
  • Create and lead customer first class presentations.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Proven experience of:

  • Leading the bid process.
  • Managing people.
  • Leading complex technical schemes or programmes of work.
  • Reviewing and assessing bid enquiries.
  • Creating and writing effective bid submissions.
  • Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
  • Excellent standard of resource planning.
  • Inspiring people (your team).
  • Leadership in customer team meetings.
  • Ideally a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally a full membership of relevant professional body.
