JOB DESCRIPTION
Part-time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
Personal assistant required for a young girl in the St Mellon's area of Cardiff to support out in the community to activities of her and her mother's choice.
She is nine years old and has a diagnosis of Down's syndrome; she is mobile and has limited verbal communication. She is a happy and social child but can display some challenging behaviour. She has no awareness of danger and may try to run off so it is important to ensure her safety at all times.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week increasing to 6 hours per week in the school holiday.
Flexible working hours to be discussed with employer
RATES OF PAY
GBP9.45 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
To support with accessing activities as required
To provide opportunities for social interaction
To be responsible for her health and safety at all times
Support with personal care
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Reliable and trustworthy
• Understanding of confidentiality
• Must be able to use own initiative
• Patient and tolerant
• Confident
• Car driver able to drive the service users automatic car
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
