More About Lytag

Lytag TM was first manufactured in 1958 following a research project to develop a lightweight aggregate from power station fly ash. In 2013, a new, state of the art multi-million pound factory at Drax power station near York was built. The process transforms fly ash into small, round, very tough pellets. These can be used as a superior lightweight aggregate which is up to 50% lighter than its natural counterpart and has been used in many unique applications across the UK most notably to build some of the dramatic London skyline including the Shard.
