The role:

This is an opportunity for an experienced Biology Teacher to join a vibrant, challenging and enormously fun teaching community in one of this country's leading girls' schools.

You will provide an excellent education for all the school's pupils by teaching Biology with expertise and enthusiasm, using an appropriate range of teaching strategies and resources, offering support to the learning of individual students and contributing to the school's pastoral system.

The role requires the ability to teach the subject up to A level, along with qualified teacher status or a willingness to gain a qualification within a reasonable period.

Biology at Wimbledon High School:

Biology is an exciting and intellectually challenging subject and lessons are delivered in well-equipped laboratories, where skills such as communication, group work, data handling, problem solving, practical and independent research are learned and put into practice.

Biological concepts are made accessible to our pupils and brought to life through the use of animations, modelling, movies and interactive ICT. We also operate a Scientific Society for pupils, as well as field trips, visits and lectures, given by expert scientists currently working in their fields.

About the School:

One of London's top day schools, Wimbledon High School is a highly academic school for girls aged 4 to 18, located in the heart of Wimbledon, less than 20 minutes from central London. Our motivated students are challenged to believe in themselves within a stimulating environment and there is a 'can-do' attitude throughout the school, with girls involved in all sorts of clubs and activities.
