Summary

A committed Female Personal Assistant (PA) is required to join an amazing team supporting a disabled, young at heart, 60 year old female in accordance with her needs and wishes.
The client has a spinal cord injury and is Tetraplegic but is positive minded and independent. The job is to help her live as normal a life as possible within the boundaries of her disability. The successful candidate must like animals as 4 cats and a dog are very much part of the family.
The required hours average 15 hours per week, 5 hours per day over 3 days. Working days include alternate weekends. Flexibility is needed to work additional hours, as needed, to cover sickness, annual leave and social hours. There are no bed calls as agency carers are used for these.
The shifts are: 09:00am-1:00pm , and 09:00am - 2:00pm depending on daily needs with additional social hours.
The job role includes:
• Personal care routines e.g. showering / personal hygiene care
• Dressing and getting up
• Tasks specific to maintaining health following spinal cord injury
• Administration of medicines
• Support when out and about in the community
• Household duties e.g laundry, maintaining a tidy home environment
• Being available for social hours.
2:1 support is needed so the successful candidate will always work with another team member.
Must be a car driver with full clean license and willing to drive the client's car when required.
Previous experience in care preferred but not essential as on the job training can be given
