In this role, you will be working within the physical and derivatives teams alongside the senior physical trader and helping expand the base metals business.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for managing risk, front office operations and looking for new opportunities in the global business. You will help to expand upon the existing base metals product offering with a particular focus on origination and warrant trading.

To be successful in the role, you will have an understanding of physical metals sales/trading and both financial and physical operations on the London Metal Exchange.  You will manage risk on flat price, spreads and premiums whilst helping explore other opportunities such as physical arbitrages between different regions or exchanges. You will need excellent analytical and communication skills as you work closely with other divisions including credit/market risk, legal and treasury. Prior experience in logistics, deal structuring, warrant trading or metals financing would be very useful and an ability to originate physical flow and/or leverage existing physical trading relationships would be highly desirable.
