Job description

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) are looking for an HR Advisor to make an impact in the Reward & Organisational Management Team.

You will work in a small and ever-evolving team where we will look to you to support the HR Reward & Organisational Management Team in matters of pensions, pay, finance & reward. You will also support the wider HR team with policy advice and assisting with staff queries.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity to become a 'subject matter expert' and contribute to decision making in Reward, Policy and wider-HR functions. You will take ownership of the MCA pensions function and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to help facilitate the MCA’s pay, reward, financial and management information responsibilities.
 

Responsibilities

Role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Pensions
Work closely with the HR Pay & Reward Manager to manage the MCA's pension responsibilities to include liaising with MCA stakeholders to monitor and implement pension changes, working closely with payroll and Civil Service Pensions to resolve queries, data enquiries and data cleansing, and assist in completing annual certificates.

• Relocation
Manage the MCA Relocation, Detached Duty and Excess Fares scheme policy, application and budget.

• Reward
Assist management of the MCA's Reward Schemes (including bonuses & digital vouchers), resolving issues, leading on communications to the business, and dealing with queries.

• Payroll
Advise MCA stakeholders with enquiries relating to pay and reward, to include providing advice on payroll policy, procedure and best practice.

About You

Prior knowledge or experience of payroll or pensions is not essential but we are looking for someone with the capability and willingness to become a subject matter expert in their areas of responsibility.

You are data-rational and can apply Excel / data skills to ensure accurate outcomes and solve problems. You have analytical skills with the ability to understand and spot inconsistencies in policy and data.

Managing your workload, prioritising and problem-solving means you achieve results, meet deadlines and overcome challenges.

You are someone with excellent communication skills who can confidently deliver information with impact across all levels.
