Job Details

The Macquarie Asset Management division has an opportunity for an experienced candidate to join the Fund Management Team supporting the Private Credit business in our London office.

As an Executive within the London team, you will be contributing to the continued growth of the Private Credit business through the oversight and management of a suite of Fund products and Separately Managed Accounts from an operational, financial reporting, regulatory and client service perspective.  You will form an integral part of a very successful Fund Management Team, delivering a high level of service to our stakeholders and clients.

In this new role, you will be responsible for the oversight of financial, regulatory and investor reporting, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including the management of client and investor relationships and the supervision of several external service providers and other commercial counterparties.

Utilising your operational and relationship skills, you will work closely with the wider Private Credit business, as well as fund administrators and custodians, to manage financing transactions from the execution phase through to settlement and will then be involved in ongoing life-cycle monitoring.  This will require you to have a thorough understanding of both the legal and operational aspects of each transaction.

You will be involved in various aspects of treasury and liquidity management for the funds, including the optimisation of FX and hedging requirements and the management investor drawdowns and distributions. You will also be involved in ad hoc investor reporting as well as responding to individual questions or due diligence requests from both existing and prospective investors.

You will help drive policy adherence across the team and help ensure a robust risk management control framework is in place.

Your technical competencies will enable you to deal with unique and varied fund structures and your experience and understanding of IFRS and multi-currency environments will be utilised in this role.  You will be responsible for coordinating the preparation of financial statements, as well as the review of tax computations, fee calculations and reconciliations.

We require that you have strong prioritisation skills, being able to deliver within tight timelines, showing effectiveness in your planning and ensuring quality output. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be a highly motivated, proactive, and resilient individual.

You will demonstrate sound business judgement and possess strong interpersonal skills which will give you the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.

Your experience in a similar type of role, for example working on closed-end or open-ended private equity or debt funds or in loan operations, would be advantageous, although not essential.

Finally, you will be degree-educated, possess advanced Excel skills, and hold a formal accounting qualification with PQE.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.
