Residential Care Worker
We are seeking Residential Care Workers to join a team offering care and support to children and young adults with visual impairment.
You will be working for one of Scotland's oldest charities - for more than two centuries, they've been supporting and empowering people with sight loss to live fulfilling lives.
Position: Residential Care Worker
Location: Morningside, Edinburgh
Salary: £28,027 - £30,063
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, part time and flexible working patterns will also be considered
About the role:
This is an exciting time to join the charity as they expand their care services for young people and open a new house providing residential and respite care. As Residential Care Worker you will work as part of a team offering 24-hour care and support to young adults with visual impairment.
You will work collaboratively with the multi-professional team within our care provision and colleagues across the organisation.
The post involves shift working over the 24 hour period, including waking night shifts, 7 days per week.
About you:
As Residential Care Worker you will need to be caring, creative, forward thinking and dedicated. If this sounds like you and you want to make a difference to the lives of people living with sight loss apply now.
You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
- An HNC in Social Care
- All eight SVQ 3 units or an equivalent qualification for registration with the SSSC or other professional body
- Experience working in a residential care setting.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team/environment.
- Liaising with families.
- Administering medications
