This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Head of Category Management to join our Green Investment Group’s rapidly growing offshore wind business and support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.

Our Green Investment Group’s global offshore wind business is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a pipeline of 15+ GW of offshore wind projects, the origination of new opportunities and partnerships as well as the provision of asset management and advisory services to third party investors.

In this newly created role, you will report to the Head of Procurement and Contract Management to manage the department and contribute to driving strategic initiatives and supporting the whole Offshore Wind business in its procurement and contract management activities.

This role is intended to be double hatted with one of the key product categories, to ensure that you not only develop the overall category management framework but also deliver it for one of the key categories.

You will take responsibility of the overall category management framework, including:

  • Development of standard tools and process for category management, as well as a development plan against which you will report on a quarterly basis
  • Ensuring progress across the various categories in a transparent and consistent way, taking necessary measures to rectify delays or other challenges
  • Challenging business stakeholders and category directors to think in innovative and value creating ways
  • Ensuring a deep and fruitful collaboration model with the Engineering and Construction team, including definition and implementation of ways of working
  • Working closely with the Head of Procurement Development to ensure that the supply chain management, sustainability, process, and tools are deployed effectively in your team and are fit for purpose  
  • Applying deep product domain expertise to deliver best in class input and advice to the company’s projects

You will use your strong relationship building skills to engage with technical colleagues and influence a variety of key decision makers managers across the organisation. You will have managed teams before effectively in a global virtual setup.

You will possess significant category management experience in offshore wind projects, outstanding negotiation, communication skills and commercial acumen.  Strong relationship management skills, a well-developed attention to detail with capacity to appreciate the “big picture” as well as prior experience of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment will hold you in good stead to be successful in this role.
