Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 depending on experience (plus £1,300 essential car user allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Tenancy Fraud Team in the role of Tenancy Fraud Investigator. In this role you will investigate allocated cases to their conclusion, ensuring transparency and compliance in all case file management using all available tools and resources. This will include working on complex, sensitive cases and may involve joint working with Local Authority Fraud Departments, the Police, and other partners where appropriate, considering differing aims and legislation.

L&Q take tenancy fraud seriously, and this role will strive to ensure that we continue to effectively deal with any misuse of our properties and protect our resources. This is the start to establishing L&Q as a leading success story in tackling subletting and other types of tenancy fraud across its stock.  To help achieve this, you will attend and give evidence in both civil and criminal proceedings at County Court, Magistrates Court and Crown Court You will also be expected to brief our legal representatives or external representatives on the conduct, process, and findings of the investigation during such proceedings.

You will also work closely with our Tenancy Verification Team to investigate irregularities and instances of potential fraud that arise from our tenancy verification programme.

To succeed in the role, you will have and maintain, an up-to-date knowledge of civil and criminal law and procedures as affects investigative and professional standards. You will ensure the organisation is not open to complaints and prosecution and will have strong persuasion skills to establish this good practice across the group.

Requirements include:

  • Knowledge of tenancy fraud
  • Experience of working in housing
  • Availability to work out of hours (including early morning, evening, and weekend visits)
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to set own and team’s priorities to achieve set deadlines & targets.
  • Self-motivated and innovative problem solver, target driven, and solution focused mind set
  • Able to demonstrate strong administrative experiences, gained in a fast-paced working environment
  • Good analytical skills, able to identify inefficiencies and suggest solutions
  • Resilient – able to manage excellent verbal and written communications skills, able to develop and influence relationships at all levels

Qualifications required: Professional Counter Fraud qualification (PINS, ACFS or equivalent)

It is essential you have access to a car and a clean driving license
