Job Details

Frontier Economics is an economics consultancy that tackles the big questions facing governments, businesses and society. We help our clients to analyse and understand their markets and to formulate strategies based on sound economics. The methods and models we use are often complex, but our advice is always succinct, clear and honest.

We are recruiting Economic Consultants to join our Competition practice. Our Competition team works closely with clients and legal counsel, providing a mix of strategic advice and technical support. We assist in pre-empting issues, in producing and responding to technical analysis, in preparing client submissions and expert reports and in giving oral evidence. The latest examples of our work can be found here.

We are looking for talented team players, with specialised skills and valuable expertise, who have a desire to advance their career path. As an experienced hire, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and applying analytical frameworks to address client issues.
  • Working with client and internal colleagues to agree timelines and confirm the required resources.
  • Pro-actively managing the scope and deliverables on workstreams, showing awareness of budget.
  • Taking initiative on more complex workstreams, project planning and identifying resource requirements.
  • Structuring, reviewing and editing client outputs, whilst considering how others could interpret outputs.
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of client meetings; responding to client questions with impact and empathy.
  • Identifying potential opportunities and/or a better understanding of client needs (beyond the project).
  • Guiding others in application of theory and appropriate techniques across range of different projects to provide client insight and add value.
  • Ongoing day-to-day supervision of colleagues, delegating and giving feedback appropriately.
  • Providing support and guidance to colleagues.
  • Pro-actively identifying things that would make Frontier better.

In addition to stimulating and thought-provoking project work, we offer numerous benefits to support you inside and outside of work. All employees have access to numerous Learning & Development opportunities including ongoing Career Development Reviews with the support of an allocated Mentor.

We understand the importance of work/life balance and offer flexible working arrangements including working from home. In addition we provide 28 days annual leave with the option to purchase an additional 10.

Frontier is entirely owned by its employees. As Shareholders, we encourage everyone to put forward their views. Not only do we influence how the company is run but we choose to distribute as much of our profits as is prudently possible through bonuses. In addition we offer a highly rewarding salary.

If you would like to become part of our team, we are interested in meeting candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Analysis & Problem solving skills: Experienced economists who can scope and deliver a broad range of work across different projects and services, and confidently develop new analytical techniques where needed
  • Communication skills: Consultants who can communicate successfully in many different project situations and for different types of clients, showing an awareness of how project outputs can be shared.
  • Work Management skills: Organised individuals who have the ability to scope and structure substantial workstreams and projects and tackle problems as needed to ensure delivery.
  • Client relationship skills: An awareness of how to build strong relationships with a range of clients, gaining trust quickly with new clients, and to help clients get the most out of the work we do for them.
  • Contribution to Frontier values: A genuine interest in identifying and developing opportunities to make Frontier a better place to work.

If you would like to apply, you will need to submit an online application via our Careers page. We are currently accepting applications to all of offices. With the exception of Brussels ad Dublin, please be mindful that you must be fluent in the language of the country you are applying for.

All candidates must have a post-graduate degree with an Economics focus. As we are looking for Senior Economists, the ideal candidate will have several years relevant work experience in the Competition sector.

Should you have any questions or would like any additional information please email Tara McCallum – [email protected]. We are looking forward to receiving your application.
