Infrastructure Team Leader

Would you like the opportunity to join an exciting systems and software programme covering multiple disciplines within our Defence Information (DI) Business? We currently have a vacancy for an Infrastructure Team Leader at our site in Christchurch.

As an Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be covering disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support. This is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various user sites.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to grow and expand your skillset within BAE Systems.

Your responsibilities as an Infrastructure Team Leader will involve:

• Providing technical leadership to other members of team and supporting new starters with the technical aspects of their tasks
• Planning, estimating and general day to day team management
• Monitoring Windows security, including the evaluation and resolution of security vulnerabilities
• Developing technical solutions
• Problem solving and troubleshooting
• Providing technical guidance and estimates to bids

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

• Confident in the use of PowerShell scripts and be able to mentor other users in the use of PowerShell
• Installation and configuration of Microsoft operating systems
• Windows security including active directory, GPOs, App Locker and firewall

Desirable:

• Qualified to diploma or degree level in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related discipline
• Previous team leadership experience
• Experience of Windows networking including DNS, DHCP, network teaming and WDS
• Experience of using centralised deployment toolkits such as MDT or SCCM
• Experience using configuration management systems
• Installing and configuring anti-virus software
• Backup software experience
• Monitoring suites experience

What we are looking for in you:

You should be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude, good communication, and be able to problem solve to be able to deliver agreed budgets and timescales in a timely manner. You should also have existing knowledge of networking and security systems, and a general interest or a willingness to learn and feel confident leading and supporting other team members.
