Job Details

Our lab, "Engage Me", is looking for Quality Engineers to help us update and foster our recently launched native Mobile App.

As a Quality Engineer in the Mobile App team, you'll be responsible for the quality assurance of our mobile app code base. Your focus will be to contribute to and improve the BDD expertise across the team, ensuring we have a consistent and successful approach to testing and quality.

This will be achieved via test automation frameworks as well as manual testing. This covers functional, accessibility and security testing to group standards, as well as using metrics and customer study to help present a fabulous experience the helps Britain Prosper. This is a great time to be joining the team and setting up an automation framework for success using latest technologies. As a member of an end-to-end feature team working in an Agile Environment you'll collaborate closely with fellow Quality and Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners to design sophisticated solutions and elegant tests to prove them, helping us deliver the best software we can.

Your responsibilities and day-to-day work will include:

  • Design and build diligent, maintainable and modular automation frameworks/suites.

  • Complete exploratory functional and accessibility testing alongside automated testing.

  • Develop and extend frameworks, templates and guidelines for developing test scripts.

  • Write detailed Test Plans and End of Test Reports, evidencing the quality of the software we ship.

  • Understand and write the test data requirements, collaborating closely with the external teams across the Value Stream and beyond.

  • Act as mentor to junior Engineers, encouraging our culture of collaboration and openness to thrive.

We hope that you'll apply if:

  • You intimately understand Mobile (iOS/Android) / NodeJS / BDD Best Practice.

  • You're able to work without supervision and offer mentorship and leadership to others.

  • Using automated testing tools (such as Appium, WebDriverIO, Cucumber, Perfecto, Selenium) doesn't phase you.

  • Your experience has given you an understanding of programming principles and standard methodology, e.g. for crafting re-usable, modular and sophisticated code.

  • Reviewing colleague's work and providing feedback to others in a constructive and positive way is something you enjoy.

  • You're excited by DevOps tooling for the execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT, GitHub Enterprise/GitLab, Docker.

  • Working with modern Agile practices is something that motivates and excites you!

  • You are excited to be part of a large transformation to Cloud journey

  • You have effective communication skills, and are able to clearly present ideas and provide direction to others.

Don't worry if you don't tick all these boxes; we're open minded and keen to invest in enthusiastic and positive people!

So what can we offer you in return?

We offer phenomenal packages including; private medical insurance, discretionary bonus, various share plans, a pension where we contribute up to 15%. 30 days holiday, plus 9 bank holidays and cash sum of 4% which you can exchange for a variety of benefits, or simply take the cash. Our flexible work options mean your work/life balance can be preserved while fully-paid training and certification programmes ensure your skills remain fresh. This includes time off and support to help you gain them, e.g. helping to sit and pass your Google Accredited Cloud Engineer exam.

We're an equal opportunities employer and are delighted to receive applications from people of all backgrounds to join our diverse team.
