Our busy and diverse IT department is looking for an Application Support Analyst to join this Business Systems team, at the Sytner Group head office in Leicester.

About the role

As an Application Support Analyst, you will be responsible for providing software support to our internal business solutions. This will include maintenance, administration, and management of issue resolution.

You will work as a pivotal channel between the Service Desk and our Development team, to provide operational support to our users and ensure that business system-related software tickets are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

The principle responsibilities are:

  • Resolve incidents, service requests and problems for our internally developed business systems and Dealer Management Solution in a timely and efficient manner in line with business requirements.
  • Employ appropriate application maintenance, support and incident management processes and procedures to support and maintain IT applications, and to investigate and resolve incidents.
  • As required, provide timely communication to users on the status of their service requests and incidents.
  • As necessary, liaise with third-party suppliers to ensure business systems-related incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure problem prevention methods are continually applied to improve service levels and reduce costs.
  • Undertake problem diagnosis, implement problem resolution and be able to put in place prevention measures as appropriate.
  • Monitor the availability, performance, and throughput of our internally built business system applications.
  • Prioritise and schedule assigned support activities and tasks, and work in conjunction with our in-house development team to manage resource.
  • Maintain technical documentation for our business systems team, and through a combination of documentation, play a key role in educating and working with 1st and 2nd line support in order to streamline the life cycle of a software development incident.

 

About you

Essential

  • At least one years' experience of providing application support
  • Awareness of ITIL principles and processes
  • Being able to present information to peers and management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management both within the IT department and the wider group

Desirable

  • Experience using ServiceNow
  • Previous experience working with development teams
