The Opportunity
Amey provides the Catering service for the School meals to all pupils, Duties consist of assisting the chef with the preparing of the nutritionally analysed menu each day and includes the preparation of light snacks and refreshments. This is very much a hands-on role which is required to ensure that the kitchen and service areas are kept clean and tidy and are aligned to the industry standards to ensure staff always follow strict hygiene practices.

Location 1: Firrhill High School, 9 Oxgangs Rd North, Edinburgh EH14 1DP
Salary: £9.50 an hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 18 hours per week
Location 2 : Castleview Primary, 2D Greendykes Rd, Edinburgh EH16 4DP
Salary: £9.50 an hour
Contract: Fixed Term 12 Months
Hours: 16 hours per week
Location 3 : Craigmount High School Craigs Rd, Edinburgh EH12 8NH
Salary: £9.50 an hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 22 hours per week
What will this role involve?
Basic preparation of food and drinks Preparation of vegetables and snacks Simple cooking of food (including the heating and/or reconstitution of convenience foods and vegetables) Transportation and serving of meals (including the packing and unpacking of food into containers) Washing up and clearing away equipment Cash handling Cleaning of the kitchen, its surrounds and the equipment
