The role

 Independent, curious and excited about being part of a highly functioning creative team, your initiative will lead you to uncover and discover areas where your design skills can aid collaborative exploration and help Sytner Group continue to get it right and make it special for customers. Unafraid to explore areas you don't know so well, you'll undertake a process of ongoing learning, adapting and evolving alongside trends of today, tomorrow and beyond. The pace is fast, so you'll need to be able to spin multiple plates, manage your time effectively and justify your own decisions.

The responsibilities

Having a proven track record of creating design solutions that deliver high impact across digital, video and offline assets is a must. And your focus should always be on producing innovative concepts and designs for a variety of marketing initiatives including but not limited to: corporate presentations, emails, video content, corporate event assets and merchandising and digital assets. The role will hold responsibility for elevating the Sytner Group brands from end to end, seeing you:

  • Facilitate iterative and inclusive design processes end-to-end within deadlines, and output design work for the Sytner Group and CarShop brands
  • Provide ongoing support for the brand team and wider marketing team to deliver excellent design assets and content
  • Design and create engaging content for events, trade shows and corporate conferences
  • Produce high-level concepts, designs and innovative ideas for print, digital and video deliverables that are on-brand but distinctly different from any competitors
  • Build high-quality corporate presentations which are world-class and impactful
  • Engage with and manage supplier collaborations and production relationships
  • Produce content to support on preparatory materials for spokespeople
  • Identify and initiate improvements to the design and execution of graphics material
  • Pilot alternative and creative ways to deliver the best engagement from our audience through good design and standard methodologies
  • Apply brand design to internal communications across the group
  • Produce storyboards and layouts to translate ideas to stakeholders and develop innovative design solutions
  • Source video and negotiating rights to clips
  • Organise shoots and talent
  • Tell the Sytner Group and CarShop stories through excellent design
  • Create content that generates traffic and increases video views
  • Manage client proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production
  • Determine size and arrangement of copy and illustrative material, as well as font size and style
  • Stay on top of design ideas and technologies
  • Present ideas to team members and internal clients
  • Share ideas and knowledge with other members of the brand team to inspire collective on brand learning, thinking and execution
  • Apply design principles and best practices in everything that is delivered
  • Support video production and output
  • Work with the Social Media Team to come up with engaging concepts alongside producing all relevant assets, ensuring that the Sytner Group and CarShop brands are always applied correctly
  • Produce and output all required artwork for Sytner Group and CarShop

The Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience working in a Graphic Designer role, preferably in the digital sector or agency
  • Being an authority in Adobe Creative Suite with experience in all programs including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • A high level of experience developing social media campaigns
  • A Bachelor's degree in the preferred and/or a related discipline
  • Ability to travel with work when required
  • Supply of an up-to-date online portfolio
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint and design potential in creating highly-creative presentations
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience repurposing content into different social media formats
  • Ability to storyboard or translate ideas to stakeholders and develop innovative design solutions
  • Be comfortable working with external creative agencies to support and enhance the ideas
  • A keen eye with excellent attention to detail

The desirables

  • Previous experience working in retail, automotive or travel would be a plus
  • Illustration capabilities
  • Previous experience with motion graphics, being proficient in graphic editing/animation using industry-standard software including Premier Pro and After Effects
  • 3D graphic or animation skills
  • Experience in scriptwriting/copywriting
  • Experience in photography retouching
  • Experience sourcing video and negotiating rights to clips
