Are you an accomplished accounting professional and want to be part of a growing, successful “fusion” accounting practice?

When you join Finling, you become part of a team delivering ingenious accounting for ambitious entrepreneurs. We fuse the best elements of working in industry with the best elements of working in practice, so that you have the most fulfilling career possible.

You join a team that really cares about your next career move, and will enable you to learn and grow as an accounting professional.  We support your journey to qualification with CIMA, ACCA or AAT, as well as continuing professional development post qualification.

You will be part of a team that cares passionately for its clients. We focus on a smaller number of deep relationships with clients, providing both their finance team, and their compliance and advisory services.  This is very different from the traditional “transactional” relationships you normally find between practice and client.

You will have the choice to work flexibly, from home on Mondays and Fridays, if you wish, and in the office for everyone Tuesday to Thursday.

You can vary your hours around our core hours of 10am to 4pm, or work part-time if that suits you better.

We have a very comprehensive benefits package designed to support you to achieve a work-life balance, and to look after you through good times and bad.

Here is what some of our team have said about working at Finling:

“Finling is great place to grow as a professional. I joined this firm as an Accounts Assistant in 2015. Every year since then has brought new challenges and opportunities. Since then, I have become a Manager and ACCA member. I gained invaluable experience working with multiple clients and taking over complex and challenging work”.

“In Finling, there is something special about the way we work together. Even though individuality and one’s skills come to light even more in accounting than in other professions, the values and standards of the firm that we all share and our personal bonds strengthen our team spirit and make us be seen by our clients as a trustworthy whole, rather than separate parts of one external finance team”.

What will you receive by working at Finling?

  • Salary range is between £25,000 and £35,000 per annum, based on a full-time position and depending on your experience.

Full study support, including time off to study, as well as a contribution to your costs

20 days holiday, plus bank holidays and the last half day before Christmas, as a minimum. There is no fighting for holiday at Christmas and New Year, as the office is closed.

A full range of benefits, from season ticket loans, to health insurance, buying and selling additional leave days to profit sharing bonuses

What do we need you, the accounting professional, to be?

You will:

  • Be a capable technical accountant, with experience in an accounts team, and a genuine knowledge of how to correctly treat the many different types of transactions that make up a client’s books

Show progression in your accounting career, whether it is progressing from one team to another to acquire additional ledger experience, or making the move into team leadership.  We are looking for people who want to get on in their careers

For the more senior roles, be able to confidently close a monthly set of accounts to an excellent standard, be proactive in identifying and resolving differences and other problem areas

For leadership roles, we are looking for experience in, and enthusiasm for, supporting and training team members, organising workflows, designing and improving processes, and care for the wellbeing of others

Know your VAT so that you can prepare or review VAT returns effectively

Be confident in looking after clients. You'll know when to pick up the phone, offer a Zoom call or drop someone a line by email.  You will be effective in extracting the right information at the right time, and gently persistent in doing so.

Have made good progress in your accounting qualifications and be on a clear path to qualification, whether that be AAT, ACCA or CIMA
