Technical Manager - Solutions Architect - Defence Information (DI)

Are you passionate about working with cutting edge technology and owning the design and engineering on projects delivering solutions that are central to the Armed Forces?

As a Technical Manager for Defence Information, you will be working with our project teams to deliver cutting edge MOD solutions, owning the solution designs through an entire lifecycle, defining and creating innovative solutions to problems, underpinned by robust delivery and engineering methods to deliver capabilities that are not only essential to for our customers, but they'll love to use. You'll never get bored and can unleash the true engineer in you, with no two of our projects being the same you can bring your own individuality and experience to our teams.

We are looking for great communicators both internally within our projects, as well as externally with our customers, to facilitate decision making and co-ordinate design activities. Your experience could cover software design, system designs, infrastructures, networking, artificial intelligence, big data, high availability & resilience, cloud computing, delivery methods and engineering approaches. You won't be expected to be an expert in them all but have some specialities from which to make informed decisions on the best approach to follow. Being part of a team of engineers, you will be able to bounce ideas off and challenge each other to be your best.

Key Responsibilities

    Taking the lead, proactively soliciting requirements and understanding customer marketElaboration of customer requirements to support production of High- and Low-Level designsKnowledge of the latest IT technologies and how they can be applied to complex problemsAnalysis, design and delivery of products, systems and solutions to meet customer requirementsCertifying products, systems and solutions are safe for delivery and use in their environment
Your skills and qualifications:

    Very experienced in applying Systems EngineeringSecurity for products through to enterprise solutions, including CIS hardening, secure by design, NCSC principlesSafety, following applicable law and governanceAppropriate professional registration (eg IET) or willingness to obtainAssembly of COTS and Military IT equipmentUnderstanding of Security ArchitecturesUnderstanding of Development FrameworksUnderstanding of Software Architectures and ImplementationPhysical and Electrical Safety, Security and Environmental complianceGood academic background in relevant subject, for example Computing, Programming, Electronic Systems, Systems Engineering, Networking, Cyber Security;

Salary: Up to £70000 DOE
