Senior Procurement Professional

The Air Sector Procurement team are on a journey to build a world-class procurement function that creates and drives value for our business. As a Senior Procurement Professional, you will work within a fast-paced Procurement Delivery Team, executing and influencing the sourcing solutions based on the Category Strategy, development, production or support volumes and unique project requirements.

This role will challenge you to bring your own individual skills and creativity to inspire an effective procurement service and in turn, provide you with the opportunity to further your career within the function and the wider business.

You will demonstrate dedication, commitment and creativity to ensure successful delivery of objectives. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, exercising appropriate levels of courtesy, diplomacy and tact. You will be able to effectively engage with and influence internal stakeholders to drive positive business outcomes. You will be well organised and thorough with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn new skills and continue your development by undertaking further training or interventions where necessary. You need to demonstrate exemplary behaviours, individuality and creativity to bring positive innovations and champion change within your team and to the wider business environment. You will have a good level of commercial acumen which will enable you to manage develop and deliver supplier contracts throughout the lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Procurement Professional will involve:

    Working as a member of the procurement and supply chain team to provide procurement insight, services and support to meet the operational needs of the businessLeading current established contracts, as well as supporting and influencing new bids for existing products and general supply chain requirementsEngaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the product or service provision meets the governance requirements of the business and our customers, delivers optimum value for money and achieves the required service levelRaising and overseeing formal documents to support the sourcing and contracting process, include Request for Information, Request for Quotation, Assessment documents, Purchase Orders and ensure all Import/Export Control data relating to their allocated category area is correct and maintained within the wider teamNegotiating pricing and contracting terms and conditions as applicable and optimising the execution of the supply chain, balancing inventory, supply orders and schedule demand. This will include working with the engineering team to understand engineering requirements, ensuring those requirements are understood and reflected throughout the procurement lifecycleManaging supplier performance and relationships to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and in-service performance, reporting upon Key Performance Indicators to identify and monitor supplier performanceLeading and influencing supply strategies, via continuous improvement, to ensure an affordable, innovative and sustainable solution is being delivered
What we are looking for in you:

Essential:

    Proven experience of working within a Procurement (or similar) environment and understands the importance of lifecycles (Procurement, Project Management, Engineering etc.)You should either hold, be working towards or be willing to gain a CIPS certificationProven experience of stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally. You will need to understand data from various platforms and be able to deliver this back to stakeholders in an appropriate formatYou should have a Continuous improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement Problem solving, working collaboratively to identify a solutionProven experience of working with Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and/ PowerPoint etc.A willingness to travel to suppliers / other sites to participate in business reviews where necessary
Desirable:

    Hold a degree (or equivalent) in a business-related subject (Economics, Business, and/or Finance etc.)Experience of working with LN Infor or similar ERP systemsAnalyse information and propose solutions that best meet the requirements of the business

Salary:

£40,046 plus depending on experience
