The role is with a charity whose Schools Service is an integral part of their mission to protect children from all forms of abuse. It is responsible for delivering the ‘Speak Out Stay Safe’ programme.

Position: Schools Coordinator

Salary: £24,261 - £28,542 plus £500 home-based allowance pro rata

Location: 1 role in Bournemouth, Dorset, Remote - South West and 1 role in South Gloucestershire

Contract: Permanent

Hours: South West role - Full time (35 hours), South Gloucestershire role – Part time 14 hours per week

Closing Date: 7th June 2022

The Role:

The charity’s ‘Speak Out Stay Safe’ programme aims to give children an understanding and awareness of abuse in all its forms and how to recognise the signs. It reassures children that abuse is never a child’s fault, that they have the right to be safe.

Reporting to the Schools Manager you will be the single point of contact for all schools in your area. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of the school offer. Working to set targets, you will supervise, recruit, train and retain a team of local volunteers who will deliver elements of the schools offer in line with national standards and safeguarding guidelines.

As a member of the local services team, you will work with local colleagues across the region to maximise service reach. You will be an active contributor to projects and workstreams, sharing learning and experience to help drive and develop the offer for schools and grow the service

You will represent the charity and seek opportunities to work externally with key partners and stakeholders, such as local authorities and the media, to capitalise on the impact and reach of the services for children.

About You

We are looking for people with well-developed skills in building relationships and networks with key safeguarding leads and the local community. As a member of the team, the charity’s organisational values and behaviours would be important to you.

We want someone who will take a child-centred approach, has a strong belief in the rights of children, and a clear understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of life and practice.

If you are someone with experience of delivering programmes in an educational or safeguarding setting, who is motivated by targets, with strong planning and organisational abilities, good communication and excellent people skills - we would love to hear from you.

These are permanent, home based positions requiring travel throughout the area, so you must live within the South West region of Bournemouth, Dorset or South Gloucester with access to and daily use of a car.

In Return

We know that the main reward is making a difference to children’s lives, but you will also be rewarded with a variety of rewards and benefits including generous annual leave, employee benefits and assistance programme, pension and life assurance schemes.

Join this amazing organisation and you’ll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You’ll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that’ll bring the best out in you. And you’ll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts millions of young lives.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Community Engagement, School Impact Officer, School coordinator, School Partnerships, Teacher, Education, School Engagement, School Leadership, Schools, Charity, Not for Profit, Education, etc.
