Lead Business Analyst
Would you like to contribute to the future of IT within complex warships? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Business Analyst at our site in Scotstoun, Filton, Portsmouth.
As a Lead Business Analyst, you will contribute to the implementation and configuration of complex business information systems across all platforms within BAE Maritime Naval Ships. This will include Type 26, the Australian Hunter Class and the Canadian Surface Combatant.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on the latest technologies which support the Royal Navy through involvement in National and International programmes.
Your main responsibilities as a Lead Business Analyst will involve:
- Leading business change work streams end-to-end within IT enabling business transformation programmes
- Leading on workshops to investigate user requirements, agree solutions and produce good quality output
- Working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to analyse and manage both functional and non-functional requirements
- Creating requirements documentation or user stories, to a standard that allows the development teams to enhance existing/create new applications or system integration
- Working directly with developers or other technical teams to ensure the best possible solution is designed and agreed
- Carrying out extensive use case and change impact assessments to understand the implications of moving from an as-is to a to-be state
- Planning and executing mitigations for high impact changes to support the business in adopting the new ways of working or technology
- Maintaining and delivering stakeholder engagement and communications plans, including developing materials, tailoring approaches accordingly to makes changes
- Developing and refining detailed use case, business cases and roll out plans
- Supporting the design, test and implementation of new processes and system improvements
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience of leading multiple projects concurrently
- The ability to find the roots causes of a problem and work with the team to identify solutions
- Understanding of the design of complex solutions across enterprise applications and how those solutions can support design and manufacturing business processes
- Experience of delivering a requirement and solution specification to the development team
Desirable:
- Experience in SQL/Data manipulation and analysis
- Experience within complex engineering or manufacturing projects
- BCS International Business Analysis Diploma
What we are looking for in you:
You will have a positive attitude, professional demeanour. You will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent organisational and time-management skills will be required for this role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written is essential for this role, with an attention to detail and ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks. In this role it is key you can communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
