Kitchen Assistants x 2 (17/20 hours per week) flexible hours available, based in Aldbourne. You will be offered an attractive salary and excellent employee benefits. These positions are permanent and offer applicants an opportunity to work in a well-established Nursing Home just outside Swindon. The Nursing Home is within a short walk of the centre of the active village of Aldbourne in Wiltshire is situated close to the attractive green in front of the 15th century church in the centre. There are also two pubs, a shop, post office and a library.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will be providing the residents with nutritious and healthy meals at breakfast, lunch and at tea time. The residents live in a comfortable and welcoming environment and allows plenty of opportunities for the residents to walk and relax and enjoy the expansive views of the Wiltshire countryside, therefore their meal times should also be an enjoyable experience, each and every day.

The team is dedicated to providing an excellent standard of care to their residents catering to their individual needs. As a Kitchen Assistant, your role is of great importance as you will be working with the Head Chef to assist with the preparation of all meals throughout the day. You will ensure that all meals are prepared to the highest standard, allowing for individual choice of foods, planning and preparing tasty and nutritionally balanced meals, some with special dietary requirements. Working as part of a team, you will ensure that all food stocks, kitchen equipment, appliances and working areas are maintained to the highest of hygiene standards, assisting with other domestic duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry assistance as and when required.

As a Kitchen Assistant you will receive excellent levels of required Food and Hygiene Training, however previous catering/kitchen assistant experience would be an advantage in these positions. Due to the location it may be easier for applicants with access to own transport to apply for these roles, however there are bus services which can take to the village centre.
