Salary & Benefits: £61,176 to £99,411 per annum (depending on experience), plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Where does the role sit and what will I do?

This role is part of Onboarding and Customer Communications and will give you the opportunity to work in a fun dynamic team who are at the forefront of leading the way for customers & colleagues in transforming & digitising the Lloyds Banking Group Retail Bank across mobile, branch, telephony and internet banking. Working in a strong collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our end-to-end architecture across our channel development portfolio, also working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges.

You will be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with the engineering transformation strategy and report to the Lab Engineering Lead.

What would I focus on as Solutions Architect?

As a Solutions Architect you will provide architectural oversight into the data and system integration work across the various feature teams. The work involves integration of 3rd party services into the various channels that the bank uses to communicate and interact with its customers.

You will have the opportunity to help shape the next generation of the bank's capabilities and will work closely with the development teams.

What do we need to see from applicants?

We like people who come from diverse backgrounds that can bring new and challenging ways of thinking to the team. We'd like to see evidence of the following in your CV's;

  • Specific knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration, Enterprise Data Integration, Enterprise Integration Platforms.

  • You will have experience of designing solutions for stakeholders, demonstrating diligence, insight and willingness to challenge. You will know and understand how to keep our customers safe, through a strong working knowledge of software and infrastructure security controls.

  • Software engineering skills in Java and Javascript

  • Large scale Mobile application and Web Application architecture

  • Have worked and provided end to end integrated solution for encompassing Mobile App, Web, Middle tier Java based Banking Application infrastructure and core banking systems based on MainFrame

  • Building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a strong understanding of cloud methodologies

  • Knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns

  • Have produced High level design, ITSD, Minimum Viable Design, Architecture Roadmaps

  • Proven track record of delivering technical solutions at scale

Desirable skills

  • Experience in the Banking & Finance industry

  • TOGAF or equivalent qualifications.

  • Preferable experience with private & public cloud infrastructure

  • Exposure to at least one of Liberty, Tomcat or Jetty Containers

  • Experience in large scale transformation design.

  • Capability to identify technical risks, articulate the associated IT costs and business impacts, and propose options for resolution
