Built in 1939, the Marlborough School is a co-educational Church of England secondary school in the market town of Woodstock. Our excellent examination results have made us the second most over-subscribed school in Oxfordshire and we all believe, genuinely and unequivocally in the capacity and potential of every child.
We are seeking to appoint Catering/Cleaning Assistants to join our friendly school. Previous catering or cleaning experience is not necessary as full training and support will be provided. Duties will include the serving of pupils; food preparation and maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen and school environment.
We would be pleased to hear from candidates who are interested in either role, preferably both.
Catering Salary: GBP18,516 pro rata
Hours:18 hours per week, over 5 days, term time plus 1 week (39 weeks), plus 5.45 weeks of paid holiday entitlement.
Cleaning Salary: GBP18,333 pro rata
Hours: 10 hours per week, term time plus 5 weeks (43 weeks), plus 6.01 weeks of paid holiday
Key Purpose of Job
* To work in a team to ensure that a quality catering and cleaning service is provided.
* To assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, setting out, clearing away and cleaning.
* To ensure a clean that a clean and healthy environment is maintained throughout the school.
Responsibilities
* To ensure equipment is maintained and to report any repairs/breakdowns.
* To operate the cashless catering system (training will be provided).
* To ensure all daily and weekly records are taken and recorded.
* To keep the designated cleaning area clean and tidy at all times and cleaning materials safely stored.
* Periodic cleaning, including skirting boards, pipes and window ledges.
Duties:
* To assist with preparation and cooking and serving of meals.
* To assist with the storing of goods and undertake stock replacement duties.
Other Duties:
* To fulfil your duties and responsibilities regarding safeguarding pupils and health and safety.
* To support the aims and ethos of the school and promote good relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
* To participate in the School's arrangements for appraisal and professional development.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Enhanced DBS, Clearance for Prohibition Check (can be undertaken upon appointment).
* Experience of working in a busy environment.
* Experience of working in a catering environment and basic hygiene and food preparation knowledge (desirable).
