About the role 

You will be responsible for ensuring the right environment (office and culture) is in place for people to thrive in our growing business. The role can be full time or part time (but no less than 3 days per week ). 

Your key responsibilities will include:  

General 

  • Work with employees and managers across the business to build strong relationships and provide advisory services where required 
  • Work closely with HR colleagues across the business to monitor, review and update all policies in line with current legislation and best practice 

Recruitment:  

  • Supports recruitment efforts of wider team when required (via interviewing)  
  • Creating pipeline of candidates for future organisation: creating and managing long term relations with key universities  
  • Managing key agency relationships 
  • Managing employee referrals 
  • Administer the recruitment of new staff, liaise with agencies, negotiating all terms of business 

Onboarding:  

  • Owning the employee experience for new and existing employees including contract execution; requesting of all IT equipment for new starters; ensuring right to work documentation; adding new starters to payroll;  
  • Deliver a warm experience for all those joining the business 
  • Continually review and update onboarding process to ensure it is fit for purpose.  

Performance and reward 

  • Support performance review process, ensuring all supporting documentation is available and communicated to team members 

Communications 

  • Be the first point of contact for all staff on HR matters and questions 
  • Manage regular Company updates to ensure they are consistent, relevant and inclusive 
  • Create and manage general company events to support teamwork and inclusivity e.g., Christmas/staff/other events ‐ research, booking, menus, transport, payments etc 
  • Communicate effectively with team to ensure awareness of HR events/ actions 

HR processes & systems: 

  • Maintain company organisation charts and all employee records and directories 
  • Create, maintain and update HR records 
  • Keeping HR system ( BreatheHR) up to date 
  • Monitoring holidays and ‘nudging’ accordingly 

Pay & Benefits 

  • Liaising with Financial Controller to ensure payroll is administered correctly each month 
  • Administration of any employee benefits e.g. liaising with Financial Controller plus Pension provider 

Learning & Development 

  • Support the identification of learning needs and selecting appropriate partners/ courses/ channels 
  • Monitor career paths of team members 

Office 

  • Ensure office is productive and welcoming workplace for colleagues and guests  
  • Manage day-to-day operational issues such as staff access and supplies, printers, stationery  
  • Provide first point of contact for service suppliers where appropriate  
  • Support significant meetings - catering, refreshments, IT, meeting supplies 
  • Assist with team travel as and when needed 

About you  

  • You are CIPD qualified or working towards it 
  • You have experience of working in a similar role  
  • You have a natural talent for organising and thrive in a busy working environment 
  • You have a clear aptitude to work autonomously and ability to drive things forward without being prompted  
  • You have experience in creating new processes as required and ensure best business practises are adopted 
  • You are confident & friendly individual with the ability to communicate to a wide range of people at all levels both verbally and in writing as well as being resilient. 
  • You show initiative and be hardworking and committed to excellence in their role  
  • You are a quick learner who enjoys overcoming challenges and loves getting things to run smoothly 
  • You have a positive outlook with a ‘can do’ attitude and a calm confident approach  
  • You are able to identify problems and develop solutions  
  • You recognise and understand the need for confidentiality  
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • You have excellent IT skills:  using a range of office software, including email and spreadsheets, to ensure the efficient running of the office 

Our office is based in Central London and you will be expected to attend the office for 3 days per week.
