Salary & Benefits £52,912 -£66,140 (depending on experience) base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

What team does this sit in
Major Core Programmes Quality Assurance provides a Quality Assurance Centre of Excellence to deliver and continuously improve Quality Engineering through innovation and automation, driving excellence in testing, as well as test environments and test data provisioning. Supporting the whole of LBG with an expertise in Major Programmes, with a shared goal of building the best bank of the future.

About the role:

Joining us as a DevOps Engineer, you'll provide DevOps and technical solutioning to programmes to ensure effective environment provisioning alongside inhouse development for the Environment Self Service Portal.

You'll need to have experience in modern cloud engineering including experience in connecting legacy applications with new cloud platforms. You'll also provide consultancy support / deep dive activities on DevOps pipeline improvements for programmes.

So what would you be doing for us?

You'll assess current Programmes/Projects ways of working in relation to:

  • Develop / Deploy / Test

  • Understand how long the speed to market is, e.g. average time from checking in code to deployment in live

  • Understand and assess any pain points or bottlenecks and what can be done to alleviate them by automation

  • Discover repeatable manual process, can they be automated?

  • Assess current CI/CD pipelines

  • Produce a report detailing the areas of improvement

  • Estimate time and effort to implement remedial work

  • Detail required applications/infrastructure

Provide Programme/Project assistance on tooling recommendations, infrastructure, installations or configurations:

  • Assist in acquiring any infrastructure and/or installation and configuration of required applications

  • Design and set up DevOps intervention, creating frameworks and CI/CD pipeline

  • Work with QA to build and automate tests and integrate them into a CI pipeline

What we need from

  • GIT / GITHUB enterprise

  • Jenkins Pipelines: including the ability to understand and write Jenkins files

  • Urban Code Deploy and/or Chef

  • Nexus Repository

  • Selenium

  • Scripting

  • Sonacube

  • Cloud Associate accreditation or well on the way to obtaining it
