Full Job Description

We are seeking a Part-Time Assistant Credit Controller with experience of B2B credit control to work alongside our Credit Control/Bookkeeper as part of our dedicated Finance Team. The role involves working approximately 17.5 hours per week spread over three days. The successful candidate will be IT literate, organised, friendly, and take pride in providing excellent service to clients and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a B2B credit control position and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your approach to a particular individual or circumstances.

Duties Include:

  • Follow up on overdue invoices by telephone and email within agreed timescales
  • Manage and minimise aged debt
  • Assist legal cashiers with unidentified payments
  • Escalate problematic debts to the Credit Control Manager
  • Resolve and respond to client queries
  • Record all activity within the practice management system
  • Upload invoices to client portals

Experience & Personal Specification:

  • Previous experience of B2B Credit Control ideally in a law firm
  • Experience in managing debts directly with Clients via phone and correspondence
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written
  • Excel & Word competency as well as the use of Finance packages and database systems
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible and committed
  • Driven and enthusiastic
  • A proven track record of performance with legal credit control experience is desirable but not essential
