Job Details
About the role
This is an opportunity to join SquareBook’s sales and marketing team at a pivotal moment. You’ll pitch in on everyday tasks, but you’ll also get to play a part in shaping the future of a business that’s set to transform a very big market. Our brand is at a very early stage and you’ll contribute to developing it, while making a big impact on the day-to-day.
- Producing and editing pitch decks, proposals, and presentations
- Project managing content production: video, copy, visuals
- Pitching ideas for, and producing, content: graphics, potentially articles, videos, ads, and more
- Admin: updating CRM and mailing lists, varied project management, pipeline research
- Coordination and some ownership of marketing channels: website, email, social
Tools
Currently we have a small marketing stack, but you’ll need to be comfortable with everything you’d expect from a role like this: CMS, Google Analytics, social scheduling (currently Buffer), email platform (Mailchimp), design tools, Office. You will need to be very good with PowerPoint
Great if you’re familiar with any of Divi for WordPress, Mailchimp, Turtl, Figma (or any other design tool). More important is being able to learn them quickly and get on with them self-sufficiently.
About you
You’re exceptionally smart and capable. You might have experience in finance, capital markets, tech, or a successful start-up. But we’re more interested in your intellect and ability.
You’ve got relevant experience in a similar role, but we’re open to how much – it could be a little or a lot; it’s mainly about your abilities and cultural fit. You’re likely a marketing generalist, but if you skew towards anything it’s probably content. Writing skills are good; project management experience is great. This will be a customer-facing role at times, and you may also be managing agency resource for video production and design.
You thrive in a start-up culture. You’re not happy being a small cog in a big machine – you want your work to contribute as meaningfully as possible.
- Experience in a similar role
- Stand-out communication skills
- Good judgment and a pragmatic mindset: you don’t need every detail of a task spelling out to just get it done
- Project management experience – particularly content projects
- Basic design skills (Canva and PowerPoint are fine; anything else is a bonus)
Benefits, culture, other need-to-know
Flexible working is our company standard. We’d approximate an hourly commitment per week and the role can’t be 100% remote – sometimes we’ll need you in the London office (Kings Cross) or around town (events). But if you’re the right person, we’ll make it work together.
Company
SquareBook is the auction technology platform. We're the world's first independent, conflict-free tech provider for companies to raise money using modern, fair, transparent auction processes.
Our thing is capital markets. But we’re a progressive tech company with a mission to do good, and our clients are progressive, smart, imaginative companies. That’s built into our culture. Flexible working is standard
We look for exceptional people. We’re a small team (for now) and everyone pulls their weight. That’s because we’re a business with a genuine purpose: to make capital markets work better for their users (issuers and investors) and society. It sounds corny, but we’re all here because we believe.
