Senior Test Engineer

 

London based ( 2 days per week in the office )

 

Salary & Benefits: £61,176- £76,470 base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Where will this role sit?

Intelligent Automation (IA) builds enterprise solutions for Lloyds Banking Group. Within that our labs, Digital products and Natural Language Engineering provides a number of services:

  • Conversion of speech or voice to text and machine learning based comprehension.

  • Securely sending images of identity documents such as passports.

  • Customer document retrieval for GDPR.

  • Identity verification via facial recognition.

We've more than 50 people most of whom work within our four agile teams which:

  • Ensures the existing product set is operational, on-boards new value streams and increases reliability and supportability.

  • Improves our existing offerings

  • Builds models using data science techniques

  • Builds new products when opportunities are identified

 

What will I do?

What follows is what you might find yourself doing as a Test Engineer on a day to day basis, but your role can be flexible depending on the team's needs, and your own aspirations. Our objective is to grow T- and π-shaped people and create an environment where you can do what you enjoy.

  • You'll work within a diverse feature team directing the quality testing practices and informally guiding more junior colleagues within your team.

  • Write test automation scripts using Java/JavaScript/Python and must have an intermediate level of coding skills.

  • You'll use your knowledge and experience of automated testing to design and implement an efficient strategy to prove the quality and value of your team's output.

  • Work with our DevOps Engineers to maintain a continuous integration pipeline and move towards continuous deployment.

 

What we're looking from you……

To be seriously considered for this role, we would like to see demonstrated experience of:

  • Experience working in multi-discipline Agile teams.

  • Solid QE experience in shift left engineering using latest technology earlier in the life cycle and set code review standard methodologies on BDD scripts in both desktop applications and mobile applications.

  • Deep understanding of Java/Java-script or Python BDD Best Practices and capable of building the test framework from scratch.

  • Experience implementing BDD cucumber and API automation solutions such as REST -alternative is to have similar experience in automation tools of mobile devices in other programming languages.

  • At least one mobile cloud tool testing experience is crucial such as Perfecto or Sauce Labs.

  • Very good understanding of programming principles such as engineering re-usable code, and are familiar with coding standards.

  • Experience reviewing colleague's work.

  • Some knowledge in DevOps tooling for execution of automation tests such as Jenkins and GIT.

  • Excellent communication skills and are able to clearly present ideas and provide direction to others.

  • Extensive experience in problem solving and issue resolution by following key strategy principles in judgement, influence and drive the teams towards delivery.
