Job Details

We are now looking for a forward thinking and creative individual to join Willmott Dixon Interiors as a Supply Chain Lead. This is a hybrid role of home, sites and with a base out of our Farringdon office in London, you will champion and contribute to the company strategic plan to build and maintain a robust, sustainable and competitive supply chain.

Reporting into the Procurement Director you should be able to demonstrate your ability to deliver value through improving efficiency and driving out waste across our supply chain. In addition, you will be responsible for finding, vetting and ensuring the capability of new supply chain members.

This position will work closely with a selection of supply chain members as well as our internal preconstruction and operation departments. For that reason, you will need to be an effective communicator & influencer who is able to build effective long term relationships. Expert knowledge of current market conditions is essential as well as innovative thinking and understanding of supply chain capabilities.

Experience in the refurbishment and fit out sectors would be ideal (bit not a pre-requisite) and across a wide range of project values.

As the specialist interiors arm of the Willmott Dixon Group we are currently involved in some major projects (normally 30+ at any one time) with individual values to circa £30m+. These include some major refurbishment to listed and landmark buildings, hotels, hospitals, universities, flagship stores and offices. We have a very strong pipeline of interesting work for 2022 and beyond.

Our office (when you need to go to it - how times have changed) is within easy reach of a number of stations: Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Farringdon, Fenchurch Street, Holborn, Liverpool Street and Waterloo and all the fantastic amenities, our customers and food destinations that part of London offers!

Essential and Desirable Criteria

  • Market and sector knowledge, including key subcontractor capabilities.
  • Understanding and provision of evidence detailing the breakdown of subcontractor costs.
  • Knowledge of procurement and strategic approaches to modern methods of construction.
  • Ability to engage and influence in-house departments.
  • Ability to prioritise and coordinate workload to maximise key business objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • A strong understanding of façades, to inform envelope solutions, would be advantageous
  • Technically able to vet and suggest economic solutions for roofing, cladding and windows.
  • Promoting the use of "Live Activity Schedules" from preconstruction to aid supply chain workload forecasting.
