Job Details

The Analysis and Insight team comprises around 100 finance colleagues providing the analytical and planning capability supporting all areas of Retail. This covers the income generating products of Savings, Mortgages, Current Accounts, Motor, Cards and Loans. It also includes the full cost base incorporating the branches, customer services and a host of other diverse areas.

The team is based in a number of sites across the UK, and we're passionate about deploying innovative ways of working. As such location really doesn't matter to us - we want to recruit the best people and don't want location to be a limiting factor.

Our purpose is to 'Develop ourselves, to deliver better'. We believe that to improve as a team we must improve as individuals; and development is central to this. We have an active rotation policy giving colleagues the prospect to move around within the team learning new skills and bringing new thinking to the team they join.

The objective of the role is to create analysis and insight that builds our understanding of the business to enable better decision making.

Central to the role is identifying business problems or performance anomalies; sourcing relevant data, modelling meaningful information; then drawing insights to provide recommendations and options.

Planning also forms a key part of the role - this is multifaceted, ranging from annual financial planning to rolling monthly forecasts; benefits planning linked to investment spend; and sales planning.

We are recruiting for a role in the Consumer Finance Planning team. The team supports the Planning process for across the Cards, Loans and Motor businesses. Your day to day role will encompass working with the planning models for the Consumer Finance team. Specific skill sets are the ability to work with large datasets, TM1 and advanced excel skills (VBA). As part of our ongoing development in the way we use data, skills such as Power BI and Power query would be advantageous. The role requires a wide range of stakeholders to manage & deliver across Finance A&I teams and IT.

We're looking for people to join the team who love to solve problems - people who are creative and naturally curious will thrive in Analysis and Insight.

Being able to take ownership and working collaboratively are capabilities that we value highly as are commerciality and effective communication skills.

It will come as no surprise that to join the Analysis and Insight team it is essential to have a high degree of numeracy & analytical skills. It's not necessary to have financial qualifications. The essential skills for the role include TM1 and advanced Excel (VBA), however other applications such as power BI and power query would be advantageous. A successful candidate must be experienced with working with big data sets.

And whilst having some relevant knowledge might be an advantage; it's not critical and our development culture will support you to build newly required knowledge as quickly as possible.
