We're the Risk Value Stream (RVS), and we support the Risk Division by delivering Risk Transformation across five pillars and 20 initiatives. About the role

As a Scrum Master you'll operate at a team level as a change agent with a passion for working with people and teams to help them reach their best and deliver their best for customers and the bank. The team you'll join has experience of agile, and we're looking for someone to make their own mark to support their delivery through agile within a wider programme. The role will be challenging but a rewarding experience which would be good for career progression of an individual looking for a new challenge and to gain experience from working on a high profile Risk delivery.

Here's where you'll make a difference:

  • Serve & Support the Team and Pillar to understand and utilise Agile frameworks (Scaling, Scrum, Kanban etc) and Agile events (Scrum of Scrums, PI planning, retrospectives etc) to understand the value and purpose of them.
  • Promote best practices in refinement, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and introducing tools and techniques.
  • Mentor and empower the team to self-manage, utilise feedback for continuous learning and improvement in efficient and incremental value delivery.
  • Enable the team to understand and visualise the optimal sequence of work, measure and understand their performance through metrics (throughout, cycle time, happiness etc) and use this as the basis for their improvement activity.
  • Promote psychological safety and wellbeing creating a safe, trusting, and open environment for the team.
  • Learning/curious mindset, energy, and enthusiasm for creative disruption.

What essential skills and experience we need from you:

As a more experienced Scrum Master you'll use your knowledge to guide and support others. You'll play an active role in your Chapter and the RVS Scrum Master community, sharing lessons learned and great practice.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile Frameworks (such as the Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SaFE) and has practical experience of working in Agile environments.
  • Shows knowledge and some experience of other techniques that support Agile working, such as Dev Ops, Lean, System Thinking, Queueing Theory, Complex Adaptive systems, Theory of Constraints / Critical Chain.
  • Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and experience of working with the Transformation Principles and Practices (TP&Ps).

We'd also welcome someone with a Scrum Master Certification - PSM1 or equivalent, however support will be available to achieve this.
