Who are we?

The Data & Analytics team is a multi-disciplined team of about 80 colleagues sitting within the Insurance, Pensions & Investments COO team.

Our roles range from Data Governance and Management to Data Science, MI and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using a variety of data platforms to provide the services our business needs.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A passion for designing and developing efficient, re-usable assets and capabilities to benefit our customers

  • An Inquisitive nature- do you like to gather information and join the dots?

  • An enthusiasm for problem solving & analysis - you'll be investigating and analysing data to recommend and support solutions for customers

  • Good stakeholder management skills - you'll be collaboratively working with colleagues from different areas across Insurance & Wealth and the Group in order to understand and provide value and insight for our customers

  • Well defined planning & organising skills as things could change and you'll need to adapt to a flexible agenda

What we would like to see:

  • Advanced Data Analytics (SQL), Data Science and experience of Hadoop

  • Experience of developing technical and data strategies

  • Insurance, Pensions & Investments Product Knowledge

  • Testing or Assurance experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Change Management experience

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Line management experience to support analysts using Your Best Framework

Location & ways of working:

The location of this role is flexible, however a large proportion of the team work from Leeds and Edinburgh so some travel will be expected. Agile working arrangements are also an option.
