Salary is pro rata of 40.00 hours per week (20.00).

Main Function

To ensure the overall effective management and administration of the Tayside Support Services. The development and co-ordination of resources in co-operation with the statutory and voluntary organisations involved, and with the people who use the services. Through Christian leadership ensure that the service provided reflects CrossReach s Christian Ethos and Mission Statement.

Main Duties
  1. To participate in the provision of community based environments which engage with people, promote recovery from problematic substance use, promote physical and mental health and well-being, and to provide meaningful activities to help sustain recovery
    • Facilitating, supervising and managing staff and volunteers in carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently.
    • To ensure that all administrative and financial procedures are carried out in accordance with CrossReach s policy and guidelines.
    • To ensure that staff, volunteers and service users are aware of and carry out their activities in accordance with CrossReach s health and safety, fire and other procedures.
    • To contribute actively to the planning and development of service provision.
    • To work with partners (including churches) to provide locations for recovery communities to develop, working with these partners to ensure that a safe and supportive environment for people accessing the service.
  2. To support implementation of plans formed with service users and other stakeholders. This will include:-
  • Liaison with staff of CrossReach, and with Commissioners from Health and Social Care. Liaison with other agencies and professionals and all other persons concerned with the support of the people who are experiencing problematic substance use.
  • Attendance and participation in internal and external meetings as required.
  • The development of outreach work.
  • Co-ordination of the programmes at different locations, including sessional workers and volunteers.
  • Allocation of work to staff and facilitating staff development, through staff meetings, supervision and Annual Development Plans (ADPs)
  1. To provide reports to the Head of Service and Corporate Management Team when requested.
  2. To undertake such administrative and recording duties as are required in accordance with CrossReach s policy.
  3. To contribute to the development of good practice in CrossReach through participation in policy and practice development.
  4. Day to day decisions on matters affecting the service.
  5. To demonstrate and share Christian love and support including by leading of worship in accordance with CrossReach policy, and by ensuring all staff meetings are opened with prayer and Bible reading.
  6. Any other duties required by the Head of Service or other members of the Senior Management Team.
Qualifications

Essential

Social Work, Social Care or related discipline. In Social Care - Ideally to SVQ L4, or alternatively SVQ L3 and PDA Supervision

A recognised management qualification

Personal

These hours will normally be spread over the week and as agreed with the Head of Service. Hours will be spread to ensure the needs of the service and support for staff and volunteers is optimised. Some weekend working may be required.

You are required to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos (This is a requirement under the quality act 2010.)

The post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.

Skills and Abilities

An understanding of the support needs of people experiencing problematic substance use and the underlying issues that may have contributed to their current situation.
