Job Details

An exciting opportunity to join us in the Corporate Credit Team at Lloyds Banking Group. We provide insightful analysis and guidance while exercising control and stakeholder management in a specific area of credit risk. You'll be fully supported and given all the training needed to make your career in Credit and at Lloyds Banking Group a success.

Most of our colleagues are based in London, however we'll consider other locations and are firm supporters of agile working.

What's the job? Credit Officer (Band E)

Corporate Credit is Lloyds Banking Group's second line of defense, and we're here to support our business in achieving its goals while protecting the bank from loss.

You'll join the Higher Education & Services Team and will be responsible for the credit risk management of a portfolio of high-profile corporate clients with complex and varied financing arrangements. Your initial focus will be on the Business Services sector where Lloyds Banking Group has industry-leading experience supporting clients through syndicated and bespoke transactions. The Business Services set is one of the broadest within the Corporate Bank, with clients ranging from business support services, consultants, outsourcers and recruitment consultants.

On any given day, a Corporate Credit Officer can look forward to a variety of work such as:

  • Conducting independent credit assessments using a range of sources so informed decisions can be made by sanctioning officials. This is our core responsibility, and we handle a number of requests including new to bank business, facility increases, variations and annual reviews.
  • Regular engagement with sanctioners, relationship managers, product partners and clients to shape credit proposals in order to maintain a balance of risk and reward and act as an effective second line of defense through challenge and expert insight.
  • Utilizing insight and expertise to proactively contribute to periodic sector reviews and deep-dives, shaping appetite and strategies, and identifying horizon risks and situations which may increase risk to Lloyds Banking Group.
  • Maintaining internal records and systems to comply with internal and external requirements.
  • Giving and receiving formal and informal training to support the continued development of colleagues both within and outside Corporate Credit.

About you...

  • Demonstrable credit risk management experience including financial and non-financial analysis skills and knowledge of lending and derivative products - this doesn't necessarily need to be in Corporate Banking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail, numeracy and accuracy.
  • An inquisitive nature, independent thinking, problem-solving skills and adaptability to new challenges.
  • The ability to manage multiple requests and stakeholders, as well as letting us know when you need help - we're here to support each other!

Does this sound like you?

If so, and you want to be part of an independent, inclusive credit risk team supporting important and dynamic sectors, then please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you! In return for bringing us your passion and engagement, we're offering a strong platform to develop both professionally and personally and fulfill your potential.

Different people bring different ideas and new ways of looking at things. We welcome being challenged by newcomers whatever their background or circumstances, and deeply value diversity within our organization.

We'll also make sure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

You'll also receive a competitive package that includes...

  • Salary - displayed salary is for colleagues based in London
  • Share Plans
  • A generous pension contribution
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Flex cash to spend on a host of benefits to suit your lifestyle
