Office Angels have a great opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our clients Edinburgh city centre office on a part time basis. The hours of work are 21 hours/3 Days - there will be some flexibility to work from home but work must be carried out from a location that best supports the Finance function (hybrid working to be agreed with line manager, but 2 days in office) with a salary - GBP16,800 (GBP28,000 FTE)
The Finance Assistant, will play an important role, contributing to the provision of an excellent Finance function with attention to detail, excellent IS skills, great customer service and the ability to work as a small team with a "one team" ethos.
This role will report into a Head of Finance and Compliance role which is currently being created.
Responsibilities:
Processing purchase invoices and manage their approval and filing
Preparing payment proposals
Processing purchase invoice payments through BACS processing and Bankline payments
Preparing and processing bank reconciliations
Preparing VAT returns and Payroll information
Issuing sales invoices and managing receipts processing
Managing and processing intercompany recharges
Reconciling control accounts
Reconciling letting agent statements to Sage and posting transactions as required
Processing direct Debit receipts as required using an automated system
Managing processing of DD mandates
Identifying and posting periodic accruals and prepayments and depreciation to produce a Trial Balance for management accounts and annual accounts purposes
Dealing with supplier and customer queries
Office administration and filing
Experience:
Sage 50Cloud Accounts Professional
Proficiency in other office365 applications such as Sharepoint, Outlook, TEAMs, and report writer in SAGE
Experience of processing bank payments and DDs using automated systems such as Bottomline BACS, RBS Bankline and SAGEpay
Ability to stay cool and calm under pressure
Ability to work and juggle priorities
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Ability to forward plan, work to deadlines and take a proactive approach to organising a busy workload
Desired Experience:
Experience of dealing with organisations with multiple companies/entities desirable
Experience of dealing with commercial and residential letting desirable
Experience of working with database information desirable
