What you'll do

"We're looking for a passionate Senior DevOps Engineer with a solid understanding of Kubernetes and who also has a knowledge of Terraform, Linux and cloud technologies. You'll be a natural influencer who is able to encourage and mentor software engineering teams to do their own DevOps. Our 1000 strong, Product Delivery team does everything from developing innovative AI technology to creating the best HDR viewing experience for TV products. From Sky Go to Sky Q & Sky Glass, we take our products to the next level and make them more agile and reliable with every release.

  • Design and develop new pipelines to maintain, migrate and decommission the legacy platforms.
  • Ensure that all tasks are automated and repeatable, from small scripts, to complete pipelines and evaluate new technologies to ensure we are always on the leading edge.
  • Mentor and advise associate DevOps Engineers in the team as well as help to spread the DevOps culture into engineering teams.
  • Work with colleagues to resolve incidents and problems across the platforms.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to design and define our platforms for the future.
  • Work on cloud services to develop and implement an infrastructure that will support multiple development projects.
  • Implement and use monitoring stats and metrics to improve platform stability and performance of business

What you'll bring
  • Experience with the public cloud
  • Source Control/Configuration management (GitLab, GitHub).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Kubernetes experience.
  • Understand the concept of Infrastructure as a Service (ie. Terraform)
  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes implementation.
  • Familiarity with Observability tools
  • Excellent communication skills to share knowledge and experience with other engineers.
