Job Description

Primary role purpose:

Reporting to the Partner Director – Europe, the Inside Sales Account Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of existing channel partners accounts, providing exceptional first-line service and support, receiving orders, developing leads, and seeking opportunities to present additional products and services to the Partners.

These key sales driven role requires timely and accurate responses to all incoming emails, fielding inbound calls from new and existing customers, while providing support and guidance to help customers with their buying enquiries and decisions. This requires working closely with all departments in the Maritime Business Unit, primarily sales and sales support while consistently delivering in-direct sales revenue streams to achieve and exceed monthly personal KPI and Inside sales targets. Candidates should take great pride in developing lasting relationships, building great rapport, and using their first-rate communication skills to generate revenues. Some international travel may be required.

Accountability for >$2.5M across 20+ global partners with the aim to manage, support and grow revenues through inside sales delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in nurturing existing and developing channel partnerships with the existing Partner accounts
  • Providing timely, professional, and accurate responses to all incoming sales enquiries received by phone, email, and other formats
  • Accurately record all interactions with Maritime partners and customers in the CRM System (Salesforce.com) and work with relevant teams to deliver and close deals, develop sales leads, upsell and cross-sell Inmarsat products & services
  • Provide quarterly product & services updates and case studies via email or other formats to help educate and promote maritime solutions and offers to partners
  • Identify and realize new market opportunities with assigned partners; assist in negotiating commercial terms and pricing effectively on behalf of Inmarsat
  • Act as ‘single point of contact’ for portfolio accounts into Inmarsat – proactively align internal teams and resources to promote and achieve objectives
  • Lead assigned partners toward behaviours and actions consistent with the business strategy for Inmarsat’s broadcast services
  • Take steps as necessary to develop a better understanding of end-user requirements and feed this insight into portfolio developments and initiatives
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating enthusiasm for Inmarsat’s business and clear grasp of market strategy
  • Demonstrable understanding of the satellite communications industry; knowledge of the opportunities, trends and Inmarsat’s competitive landscape
  • Exceed assigned targets for profitable sales and strategic account objectives

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Business, IT or equivalent preferable
  • Some experience within a sales or sales support role in a B2B professional environment, preferably telecommunications/satellite communications
  • Proven ability to capture, develop and close B2B deals
  • Customer Service – understand the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high-quality support before, during, and after sales
  • Target Driven – striving to meet and exceed personal and team financial milestones and targets
  • Communication – clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to customers in a manner that engages, helps them understand product & services benefits both technically and commercially
  • Organisation – establish ways to ensure that your work is completed effectively and efficiently
  • Relationship management skills with a focus on delivering against requirements in a timely manner
  • Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Team Focus - actively participate within the team to help team achieve collective non-financial goals
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to conduct high-level technical discussions
  • Results-orientated mentality, commission hungry and able to self-manage

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Inmarsat products, services and solutions
  • Familiarity with accounting and finance is favourably considered/ P&L management skills
  • A firm understanding of global businesses and understanding the challenges faced by business owners
