Job Details

Job title: PMO - Portfolio Support

Location: Preston with 2-3 days attendance required in the office per week. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: Circa £38,000 per annum dependant on experience

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage governance activities across the Programme, aligned to the PMO direction
  • Undertake insight and analysis of data to proactively identify issues and trends and support the Programme Manager or Portfolio Lead and Project Managers in delivery
  • Undertake assurance activities across projects within the portfolio in line with quality and compliance requirements
  • Support Project Managers and ensure PMC processes and controls are understood and adhered to by delivery managers
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement including sharing of best practice and implementation and embedding across the team
  • Review and produce PMC reporting at programme / portfolio level for Senior stakeholders and steering boards , tailored to different audiences and adhering to reporting cadence

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Experience in a similar PMO/PMC support role or project controls role is required
  • Working knowledge of PM toolsets - MS Project preferred
  • Competent user of Excel and other MS office packages
  • In-depth understanding of risk, issue and dependency management at project and portfolio level
Desirable

  • Educated to HNC level ideally or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ideally have PM qualification or working towards (APM. Prince 2 foundation)

The IT - PMO Projects Team

Would you like to support the IT Projects team across a large, complex programme or a portfolio of projects? We currently have a vacancy for a PMO - Portfolio Support at our site in Preston.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with autonomy to improve and evolve existing governance practice, working with the central PMO. Working in cross-functional teams you will be exposed to high complexity projects/programmes across the Enterprise IT Services business as well as working with other business units depending on the projects you are supporting with.
